Clark Waterfall is the co-founder and Managing Director of BSG Team Ventures, formerly the Boston Search Group, a boutique retained executive search firm focused on recruiting builder-leaders for the innovation sector. Vertical practice areas include software, cleantech, biotech, medical devices, interactive media, education and not-for-profit. BSG currently has offices in Boston, New York, London and San Francisco. Since 1994 its principals have completed hundreds of searches in these industries at the board director, C- and VP leadership levels.
Clark’s practice area specialties include software, Internet, medical devices and healthcare IT. He also co-leads the firm’s cleantech practice with London-based Dr. Simon Haworth, focusing on renewable energy with a track record in solar, wind, biofuels, water and green chemistry.
Don Clark is a partner with BSG, formerly known as Boston Search Group. Our boutique, retained firm was founded in 1997 and is focused on recruiting builder-leaders for growth sector companies.
During his 25-plus years in executive search, Don has worked with financial institutions, Fortune 500’s, Not-For-Profits and PE portfolio companies. Industry sector experience includes industrial, consumer/retail, energy, FIGs and life sciences.
Functionally, Don’s executive recruiting experience includes positions for CEOs, COOs, CFOs and client-facing professionals in corporate finance, M&A, and asset management. While much of his work is in New York, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, Don operates nationally.
Don’s involvement with the executive search community has included Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC), International Association of Corporate and Professional Recruiters (IACPR), the Small Search Firm Forum, International Retained Search Associates (IRSA) and the global search firm alliance, Tinzon Group.
Upon graduating with a BS in Finance from Northern Illinois University and after a brief time at Standard Oil of Indiana, Don worked in commercial and international banking with relationship development and management roles in Chicago, New York, Hong Kong and London. His executive search experience includes business development and leadership positions at a top-ten retained firm, co-founder of a boutique search firm and partner with BSG.
Resident on the South Shore of Boston, Don and his wife enjoy golf, skiing and travel in the U.S. and abroad.

Lew has been in the executive search business for 30 years. He has assisted clients in a wide range of industries but works most frequently in three areas:
private equity firms and their portfolio companies
technology-based and technology-enabled businesses
management consulting firms, and clients wishing to hire current or former consultants for operating, strategic planning, business development, and other roles
He was raised in the New York area and attended M.I.T. and Harvard Business School. He then spent three years in corporate strategy consulting with Bain & Company in Boston before moving to Los Angeles, where his activities included 18 months at the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee; two years at a large, international search firm; and four years at a medium-sized, general-practice search firm. He returned to New England in 1992 and established his own search firm, which he maintained until joining BSG.
He has been active in alumni affairs for both HBS (having served as President of the HBS Association of Southern California) and MIT (as President and a board member for the MIT Club of NH).
When not working, Lew devotes time to running modest distances, skiing, cycling, and erging; watching his wife run longer distances; and (whenever possible) serving as the support crew during his son’s triathlon competitions. The family also enjoys hiking, good food and wine, and travel.
